After what feels like an eternity of not writing or reading, I'm starting it back up. Mostly because I don't have enough going on in life right now and I have ALL this free time to do something with. Teeeeheeeeheeeee.
I wish that were the case. No, I have gotten back into reading because I need to get away from this crazy life, if only for 5 minutes at a time. I'm back to writing because I don't verbalize what's in my head and heart very often or well and, while I don't care for putting it ALL out there, there has been a lot in the past 9 months that has changed our lives, priorities, perspectives and realities. And there is a lot about our lives that will be very fluid for a good long while, I think. So as things change and things pop up, I hope this will be a resource for keeping folks informed.
But really, I'm feeling guilty because I blogged about Baker incessantly and I should do some posting about Caroline's wonderful first year as well!!
Here's the past nine months in nutshell chronological order :
WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK
Caroline's wonderful birth
We found out Caroline has Cystic Fibrosis
Life came to a grinding halt and a whole new life opened up to us
Doctors. Specialists. New regimens. Drugs. Sadness. Frustration. Anger. Depression. Heartache.
Deep breaths
Thanksgiving
Christmas
Baker turned 2
More doctors, now the really good ones that we love and trust at UNC. Changes in routines, regimens, drugs.
Confidence. Optimism. Different frustration. Hope. Joy. Trust in God.
Joe goes missing in the woods in preparation for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Extreme Hike for a Cure. He found himself.
Extreme Hike for a Cure - incredibly supportive family and friends helped raise over $20,000 toward finding a cure for CF.
I turned 34. Joe turned 35. 7 years of marriage.
Caroline started to sit up, and has just started to crawl.
Baker still lights up our world. Except when he's acting like a 2 year old and/or annoying his sister.
More to come, but that's a start. And sometimes, you just have to start somewhere.
